This is a plain-English summary drafted for a small, early-stage product — not a substitute for professional legal review before public launch.
Terms of Service
[Effective date: TBD]
The Weigh We Are (“the service”) is a shared weight-tracking board: a board owner creates a board, adds participants, and everyone logs weigh-ins over time to see progress together. These terms are between you and the operator of The Weigh We Are — an individual running this as a small, early-stage product, not a registered company. By using the service, you agree to these terms.
Acceptable use
Use the service the way it’s meant to be used: for you and the people you invite onto a board, to track and share weigh-ins. Specifically, please don’t:
- Add another person as a participant or log weigh-in data about them without their knowledge and consent. When you invite someone to a board, you confirm you have their permission — the invite flow asks you to affirm this, and we mean it.
- Scrape, crawl, or otherwise automate bulk access to boards or data on the service.
- Try to access boards or accounts that aren’t yours, or probe the service for vulnerabilities.
- Use the service to harass, abuse, or harm anyone, or upload anything illegal or abusive.
- Do anything that disrupts the service or makes it harder for other people to use it.
We may suspend or remove access for accounts or boards that violate these terms.
Board URLs and sharing
Free-tier boards are unlisted, not private: anyone with the exact board URL (e.g. theweighweare.com/yourteam) can view it, whether or not they’re signed in. Links using the old subdomain format redirect to the board’s current address, so they count too. You’re responsible for who you share your board’s URL with. Don’t share it with anyone you don’t want seeing the weigh-ins on that board. See the Privacy Policy for more detail on how this works.
Provided “as is”
This is an early-stage product, run by a solo operator. The service is provided “as is,” without guarantees of uptime, availability, or that it will always work exactly as expected. We’ll do our best to keep it running and your data intact, but we can’t promise it.
Limitation of liability
In plain terms: to the fullest extent the law allows, the operator of The Weigh We Are isn’t liable for indirect damages, lost data, or other losses arising from your use of the service. This is a small, personal-scale product, and these terms reflect that — they’re not meant to be enterprise-grade legal protection, just a reasonable, honest baseline for a free or low-cost tool.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the service grows. If we make a material change, we’ll do our best to let you know, such as by posting a notice on the service or emailing you.
